1-Day Agile Project Management Workshop (Scrum Focus)
To introduce participants to the core principles, roles, events, and artifacts of Scrum, and equip them with practical tools, templates, and best practices for managing Agile projects in dynamic environments.
This course qualifies for 7 Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward your PMI® certification or renewal requirements.
Target Audience
Professionals with some project management experience including project managers, team leads, analysts, product owners, and PMO staff looking to apply Agile/Scrum frameworks in real-world settings.
Overview
Overview of Agile values and principles (Agile Manifesto). Mindset shift from traditional (Waterfall) to Agile.
Scrum roles (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Developers), Scrum events, and Scrum artifacts.
Responsibilities of each Scrum role. Real-world role play discussion and organizational fit.
Writing effective user stories, building the Product Backlog, estimating with story points, and prioritization techniques (MoSCoW, WSJF).
Running Sprints, Stand-ups (Daily Scrum), Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives. Keeping teams accountable and adaptive.
Using burn-down charts, velocity tracking, and dashboards. Tools like Jira, Trello, and Azure DevOps (intro-level demo or screenshots).
Team-based exercise: create a Product Backlog, plan a Sprint, and simulate a stand-up and review session.
What successful Agile teams do. Missteps to avoid in hybrid or Agile transformations.
Summary, further learning resources (e.g. Scrum Guide), and certificate distribution. Optional: Intro to Agile certifications.
Delivery Format
This course is offered in both Live Online and In-Person formats. You may choose to attend fully online via our instructor-led Virtual sessions, or join us In-Person (where available).
